Position Summary
The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a 9-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Education or renewable, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor of Education position to begin August 2024.
Duties/Responsibilities
The faculty member is expected to teach courses designed for education majors at the undergraduate and graduate levels; advise students; serve on dissertation committees; engage in service-related activities including participation in departmental, college, and university committees and professional organizations; and initiate research and grant activities leading to scholarly presentations and publications. The position is expected to teach literacy using the science of reading approach. Although some courses are taught in distance education formats, applicants should expect that an on-campus presence will be required throughout the term of their employment.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Applicants must hold a doctorate in Education or a closely related field and a minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching experience in a K-12 classroom setting. ABD considered at the rank of Instructor if doctoral degree is not conferred by hire date. Conferral of a doctoral degree is required no later than December 31, 2024.
