Position Summary

The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education. The appointment will begin August 2024.

Duties/Responsibilities 

The Assistant Professor is expected to teach courses designed for education majors at the undergraduate and graduate levels; advise students; serve on dissertation committees; engage in service-related activities including participation in departmental, college, and university committees and professional organizations; and initiate research and grant activities leading to scholarly presentations and publications. Although some courses are taught in distance education formats, applicants should expect that an on-campus presence will be required throughout the term of their employment.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Applicants must hold a doctorate in Education or closely related field is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching experience in a P-3 classroom setting. ABD considered at the rank of Instructor if doctoral degree is not conferred by hire date. Conferral of a doctoral degree is required no later than December 31, 2024.
