Position Summary
The University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a 9-month renewable Instructor in Computer Science position within the Department Management and Information Sciences, housed in the Romain College of Business. The appointment will begin in Spring 2026.
Duties/Responsibilities
This position will teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in computer science such as introductory and intermediate object-oriented programming, programming languages, data structures and algorithms, operating systems, and software development.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Qualified candidates must hold a master’s degree in computer science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
About the College
The Romain College of Business is dual accredited by the AACSB for business and accounting and plays an important role in the economic and social development of the region. The College currently enrolls approximately 1,100 undergraduate business majors across eight different programs and more than 1,000 MBA students across multiple concentrations. The College also operates several state-of-the-art labs providing faculty access to high quality resources for teaching and research. These labs include the Biometrics Discovery Lab, the Judith A. and Robert E. Griffin Experimental Economics Laboratory, and the Textual Analytics and Publishing Lab.
The successful candidate will join the Romain College at an exciting time. The Romain College’s value proposition is “leveraging technology in unique ways to build mark-leading competencies in a personalized, co-created learning environment.” To better realize this value proposition, the College is launching a new Center for Applied Business Technologies, which includes reimagining the first floor of the already impressive Business and Engineering Center.
About the Department
The Department of Management and Information Sciences is home to approximately 8 Computer Science and Computer Information Systems faculty members and approximately 300 undergraduate students who together span a range of experience and research areas in computer science and computer information systems. Housed in the Romain College of Business, the Department of Management and Information Sciences is uniquely situated to offer students exposure to broad computing issues as well as practical business practices.
