Position Summary
The Kinesiology and Sport Department, in the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana, invites applications for a 9-month tenure track Assistant Professor Position beginning Fall 2026.
Duties/Responsibilities
The Exercise Science Program is CAAHEP-CoAES accredited. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching 12 credit hours per semester of undergraduate courses, advising students, providing academic service to the department, college, university, community, and profession, and engaging in scholarly activities.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Earned doctorate in Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or closely related field. Applicants with ABD status will be considered at the rank of Instructor if doctoral degree will be completed by the end of their first year of employment. If employment starts in August 2026, terminal degree must be completed by the end of July 2027.
About the Department
The Kinesiology and Sport department is housed in the Screaming Eagles Complex which includes the Human Performance Lab, Instructional Performance Center, Biomechanics Lab, and Faculty Research Lab. Additionally, the over 5000 sq ft space includes a DEXA machine, Bod Pod, Alter G Anti-gravity treadmill, Anatomage table, metabolic cart, wireless EMGs, 2D & 3D motion capture cameras, force plates, and a fully equipped teaching weight room.
