Position Summary
The Communication and Media Department at the University of Southern Indiana, a public university in Evansville, Indiana, seeks applications for a 9-month tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in public relations and advertising with a specialty in public relations. Appointment will begin August 2026.
Duties/Responsibilities
The assistant professor position will be expected to teach face-to-face and online, accelerated undergraduate and graduate courses in public relations (and related areas as needed), maintain an active research agenda culminating in peer reviewed publications, and engage in professional and university service activities.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Applicants must hold or be nearing completion (ABD) of a doctoral degree in public relations, advertising, communication, or mass communication with an emphasis in public relations. Applicants with ABD status will be considered at the rank of Instructor if doctoral degree will be completed by the end of their first year of employment. If employment starts in August 2026, terminal degree must be completed by the end of July 2027.
