Position Summary
The University of Southern Indiana is accepting applications for Maintenance Mechanic - Painter.
Perform wide range of maintenance work, with a concentration in painting and drywall, in a multi-building complex under direct supervision of the Lead Maintenance Mechanic. Will plan, coordinate, and carry out construction, maintenance, painting and equipment installations according to applicable codes and standards.

Required Knowledge and Skills
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
On-the-job experience in the painting and carpentry trades preferred.
Preferred qualifications include four years’ experience in journey-level of a trade named above.
Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements
Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Occasional irregular hours or overtime may be required to complete work orders.
This position will rotate through as the after-hours on-call rotation to perform emergency repairs for Campus and Housing as needed. Must be available when scheduled for on-call duties.
This position is considered essential. When the University closes due to inclement weather or another emergency, this position is required to report to work to perform snow and/or ice removal or other clean-up work following severe weather or other emergencies.
Travel within University and occasional travel to offsite University locations using a University vehicle is required.
